One of the most visited regions of France, Provence never fails to impress!

More than Climbing

Climbing is not the only reason to visit Provence! The region has a perfect blend of good weather, a distinctive culture and history along with bustling towns and picturesque countryside; a combination that will make your visit a fantastic experience.

When not climbing you can spend your time visiting ancient forts, such as "les Baux de Provence", or visiting historical cities such as Avignon and Aix-en-Provence, people-watching over an afternoon coffee in a village cafe or enjoying the mouthwatering French cuisine which has been declared a "world intangible heritage" by UNESCO.

Petanque

The local version of the classic ball game "boules" (or bowls!) played by old and young in every village and town across the region.

The aim is simple; to get your "boule" as close to the "cochonnet" as possible. This game is harder and more addictive than it looks!

Bouillabaisse

No visit to the "Vieux Port" in Marseille is complete without tasting a bowl of this delicious dish; a stew comprising of different kinds of fish and vegetables flavoured with a mix of spices.

Photography

Provence has attracted artists for generations; Cezanne, Van Gogh, Renoir, Picasso, Monet and Munch have all visited and painted in the region.

There is no need to bring your easel to appreciate the beauty of the region; just don't forget to bring your camera!

Beach

When visiting Provence why not take a beach-day to enjoy a swim in the Mediterranean and some fresh sea food!

The modern sport of scuba-diving using an aqua-lung has it's origins here in Provence and is a great way to see the spectacular marine life.
